last thursday my good friend Jane and I took an impromptu trip to Korea town for dinner. Korea town is basically just one block from west 32nd street between 5th and 6th avenues, which I learned is officially nicknamed "Korea Way". The block features business on multiple stories - with restaurants reaching up to the third or fourth floors (this is something Jane taught me is common in Asia). I read here that there is an estimated 100 small business on Korea way, a lot of which are open 24 hrs, woahh.)
We stopped in a little restaurant called Woorijip, and it was yummy! to me it tasted kinda like chinese food with a twist. We ordered a wide variety of things from a spicy chicken dish to rice noodles, to kimchi.
^^This was a spicy rice noodle that was one of my favorites (forgot the official name)
New York, nights like these make me fall back in love with you - thanks for opening my eyes, teaching me to step out of my comfort zone, and continually try new things. How many other cities can you walk over a few blocks and authentically feel like you're visiting Korea?
And of course a big thank you to Jane for taking me! She is such a great date :)
